How to Configure Item Names in Polish for JPK Reports
When working in NetSuite, especially for Polish entities, displaying item names in the Polish language for reports and saved searches is essential for compliance and user accessibility. NetSuite’s Localization SuiteApp provides a framework for managing multi-language requirements, including Polish. Follow these steps to configure item names in Polish for your saved searches.
Prerequisites
Verify that the Polish language is enabled in Company Preferences under Setup > Company > General Preferences > Languages. Polish should be marked as active to access Polish-language fields.
Steps
Set up Polish Translations for Items
Go to Lists > Accounting > Items.
Open the item record you want to set up for Polish translations.
In the item record, locate the Translations subtab.
Under Translations, select Polish from the list of languages.
Enter the Polish name for the item in the Name field and any other relevant details in Polish.
Save the item record to apply the changes.
This setup ensures that item names have a Polish language field populated, which is essential for the saved search to display correctly.
Remap Item Fields to Translated Item Description - Let’s take JPK_FA FakturaWiersz as an example:
Add the Item : Language is Polish as a Criteria.
Replace {item} field into {item.displaynametranslated} in the saved search formula.
Note: Limitations of the Multi-Language Feature in NetSuite
While the multi-language feature in NetSuite is useful for localizing item names and descriptions, it has certain limitations. For example:
Field Availability: Not all fields support multi-language values, so some item attributes may not display in alternate languages.
Saved Search Compatibility: Multi-language fields might not be fully supported in all reports or complex saved searches, especially if using custom formulas or filters.
Considerations
Utilizing the Poland Localization SuiteApp and NetSuite’s multi-language capabilities not only enhances compliance with local language requirements but also makes your reports and saved searches more accessible for Polish-speaking users. This approach is beneficial for presenting clear, localized data to stakeholders and meeting Poland’s language requirements for business operations.
