In order to validate the XML files generated from the VAT reporting feature, you may use an XML validator application to compare the XML file against the XSD schema.

One of the available free tools online is from FreeFormatter.com. You may use other XML validator applications as long as they support XSD schema.

To validate the VAT report XML file using the tool from FreeFormatter:

  1. Download the XML file NetSuite using the Latvian VAT reporting feature.

  2. Go to https://www.freeformatter.com/xml-validator-xsd.html .

  3. Under the XML Input section, use the option to and choose the XML file downloaded in step 1.

  4. Download the file below

  5. Under the XSD Input section, choose the PVN6.xsd file.

  6. Click the Validate XML button.

  7. Check the results of the validation.

  8. Review the errors against the Electronic "Document of the VAT taxation period" format documentation
