On January 1, 2023, Croatia embraced the euro, marking its entry as the 20th member of the euro area. The evaluations outlined in the 2022 convergence reports by the European Commission and the European Central Bank cleared the path for the euro area's first expansion since Lithuania's accession in 2015.
