Automatic Selection of Mandatory Classifications Setup

Accounting Preferences

To enable per-line classifications:

1. Go to Setup > Accounting > Accounting Preferences.

2. Under the General subtab, go to the Classifications section and check Allow Per-Line Departments or Allow Per-Line Classes box, as per requirement.

   Open

   

3. Click Save

In addition, you may need to enable these transaction line fields on your respective custom form (Customization > Forms > Sublists).

Global Settings

If certain accounts are classified equally across subsidiaries, you can use global mandatory classification settings at the Account level.

To use global mandatory classification settings:

1. Go to Lists > Accounting > Accounts.

2. Click Edit next to the account you want to classify.

3. Select the Mandatory Department and/or Mandatory Class in respective fields.

4. Click Save.

Subsidiary Specific Settings

If account classifications are subsidiary specific, specify subsidiaries in the GL Specification record.

To specify account classifications:

1. Go to Setup > Customization > GL Classification > New.

2. Select subsidiary or multiple subsidiaries (while holding the Ctrl key) to which the setting applies.

3. Select account(s) to which the setting applies.

4. Select the Mandatory Department and/or Class for the selected combination of Subsidiaries and Accounts.

5. Click Save.

6. Repeat this procedure for any additional Subsidiary and Account combination.

Script Deployment

By default, the script is deployed on Vendor Bills.

To deploy the script on more transactions:

1. Go to Customization > Scripting > Scripts.

2. Click View next to Mandatory dimensions based on account script and Mandatory dimensions based on account 2 script.

3. From the Deployments tab, open the transaction on which you want the script to be deployed in a new window.

4. Click Edit on the script deployment record.

5. Check the Deployed box.

6. Click Save.
